![]() ![]() Just make sure you’re buying the one you intended to. The newest, and more expensive, 4K Pro-UHD models, including the Epson Pro Cinema LS12000 4K Pro-UHD Laser Projector, also deliver four sets of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels to the screen for each frame. The final similarity, of course, is that we’d recommend both of them, depending on what your budget for a new home cinema projector is. The Vava is the lowest priced 4K UST projector on the market that’s actually worth getting. The biggest advantage of the Vava over the P2 is the price. Projectors are far easier to overlook, hide away, or blend in with your decor, and both of these beamers do a good job of being nice to look at when they’re not in use, and nice to watch in action when they are. While the Vava has louder speakers the audio on the Optoma P2 sounds much better in terms of quality especially with bass. It carries a 2,799 list and street price, though VAVA has run holiday flash sales for as low as 1,960. One of the great virtues of projectors is that they take up less space than their TV counterparts, being smaller and generally less assuming in their design. Despite several recent introductions among 4K UST laser projectors, the VAVA VA-LT002, informally known as the VAVA 4K, remains the least expensive option in its product class. If delivered for this price, it will be one of the more affordable Ultra Short throw 4K laser projectors available. ![]() Perhaps it also speaks to a desire by both manufacturers to pursue an inoffensive aesthetic that lets the actual projection do the talking – rather than alienating viewers with a beamer that demands attention with its hardware design. The Vava Chroma VA-SP003 is currently selling for 3,5000/ 2,500 via Indiegogo. Also a quick trip into the settings menu exposed controls for fine-tuning the alignment, whether you need. It took just a little bit of wiggling to get the picture as close to square as I could on the wall its painfully evident when its not lined up, so that was easy. Samsung's blog post on The Premiere's design confirms this, calling it "a seamless match with any environment" – and writing that "Rather than appearing as just another rigid electronic device, The Premiere is finished with fabric materials that help the product merge naturally into any space." The VAVA projector gets you a huge 4K picture at a fraction of the cost. (We should note, as well, that the ultra short-throw projection technology will limit the size and shape of each projector in a similar fashion.) Curved edges, light and non-metallic colors, as well as textile materials all help to blend AV kit with its surroundings. It does, however, speak to a growing trend towards gadgets that look more like furnishings than, well, gadgets. We should clarify that we’re not assuming any kind of purposeful imitation from either brand – the kind of plain white styling and gray mesh finish shared by both projectors is hardly new to home gadgetry, and we’ve seen similar aesthetics to everything from headphones to smart speakers.
